If downloading is not a viable option (for example, the movie files are too big for efficient downloading, or a theater requires frames to encode or slice its own movies), Loch Ness can ship the fulldome show on a USB drive. There is a minimal cost for this, outlined on the Prices/Ordering page. The show is also available directly from selected fulldome vendors whose systems use proprietary encoding.

Fulldome (DigitalSky2.3) adaptation of "Invisible Mars" from the NASA MAVEN Mission to Mars. If you aren't running DigitalSky in your theater, you can still download the assets and adapt the show for your platform. The media consists of some 2x1 Equatorial Cylindrical Equidistant textures (of Mars, Earth, and the sun), a few images, and a couple of MP4 movies. For DigitalSky, I wrapped the textures onto dummy sphere objects in the planetarium to simulate viewing the Science On a Sphere in the dome. The "InvisibleMars_Content.zip" file in the link have all the assets (including the presenter script) you need for adapting the show. For more about MAVEN and its outreach programs, go to lasp.colorado.edu/home/maven/education-outreach/afterschoolsummer-programs/invisible-mars/. Enjoy! Please drop me a line at tkomatsu (at) berkeley (dot) edu if you decide to use the program, adapt it, or have questions. From Toshi Komatsu, The Lawrence Hall of Science

Deep within the granite mountains of Colorado, where you might expect to find a secret Defense Department stockpile of missiles awaiting the end of the Cold War thaw, lies another kind of reserve. It is a dark, clinically sterile cold room, kept meticulously at 42degrees and a relative humidity between 25 and 30. This is not the vault for a lethal chemical gas antidote or a vaccine for some exotic virus. These chambers, maintained by the United States Department of Agriculture, hold one of the strategic guarantors of human survival-16,474 varieties of rice. If that sounds like a lot, it's a mere fraction of the planet's diversity. India alone (where rice is said to have originated) had 50,000 varieties under cultivation over the centuries. Today most of India's rice comes from fewer than ten varieties. 2b1af7f3a8
