Sib. 7.0: Turning off stave justification Posted by JohnP - 05 Apr 12:35AM Hide picture I can't figure out from the manual or from the Layout options how to turn off stave justification. I need to be able to put more space between particular staves in parts from a score. I don't mind if the top stave and bottom stave are locked to the top and bottom margin respectively but I'd like to be able to manually alter the vertical position of some of the central staves on a page. Can anyone help. Sibelius does adjust the other staff positions, but I've always gotten the results I've wanted. Sometimes Sibelius' staff-spacing algorithm behaves in a surprising manner, and I've had to make a second attempt to get the desired result. But it comes in the end.Best practice for adjusting vertical staff positioning is probably documented somewhere in the Friendly Manual. But I'm not quite sure where.- ( Back to top | Allthreads Re: Sib. 7.0: Turning off stave justification Posted by Richard Hatton - 05 Apr 10:08AM Hide picture The other option is to select a page or pages (or even the entire score and then:Layout - staff spacing - optimise -- Richard HattonSibelius 7.1.3 ,Photoscore Ult. 7.0.2; Windows 7 64 bit; quad core i7, 16GB ram; core I5, 8 GB ram also with Sibelius 6.2 and Photoscore 6.1. Turn off Justify Staves by setting the value to 100% (or 0%). Then you have complete control over staff positions. (If you're trying to move a stave UP and it won't go, try Shift-drag.Try Ctrl-A (select all) followed by Ctrl-Shift-O (optimize staff spacing) first. If this is about making room for text etc., it may well do the job. Perhaps I should have stated that it is the parts derived from a score with which I am having trouble.I have attached my score, as I have noticed from these threads that that is often the best to get a resolution. If you look at the last page of the trombone part, for instance, I would like to be able to drag the first stave of No. 34 plus its associated text down the page by the equivalent of about two stave widths. An even better example is on page 23 of the trombone part where I'd like No. 31 to be further down the page. Put the mouse over the stave that needs moving, hold down the L mouse button, (a bar will become selected), drag down. Version attached in which I just did it!
